Cookie Policy

What this application stores in your browser, and why.

What we set

Session cookies. When you sign in — as SEMRS staff, or as a client in the Client Portal — we set a signed cookie so the next page knows it is still you. It carries no personal detail beyond the account reference, and it is removed when you sign out.

Your theme choice. Choosing light or dark is stored in your own browser only. It never reaches our servers.

What we do not set

This application does not run third-party advertising pixels, cross-site trackers or behavioural analytics on its own pages. There is no advertising profile of you built from your use of this app.

Cookies on a client's own website

Where we place analytics or conversion tracking on a client's website as part of the work, those cookies belong to that client's site and are covered by that site's own policy and consent notice. The client is the data controller there; SEMRS acts on their instruction.

Controlling cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie will prevent you from staying signed in, since that is the only thing keeping you signed in.

This page describes how SEMRS actually operates. It is written to match this system's documented practices rather than generic boilerplate, but it is not legal advice, and a qualified review is recommended before relying on it in a dispute.
